Cocoa husk-derived Biochars synthesized at low temperature impregnated with zinc chloride for removal of ibuprofen in different solutions

Metabolites and residual compounds from pharmaceutic industry are considered as emerging contaminants an increasing source of environmental pollution, they used by a quantity people, due to their physicochemical properties, easily transported hydrological systems bodies water. Then, the elimination this kind water adsorption is one most promising techniques. The aim research was study kinetic isotherms ibuprofen onto low temperature-synthetized activated carbons cocoa husks (Theobroma cacao) impregnated with solution Zinc Chloride (ZnCl2) at impregnations ratios biomass:solution 1:2 (CA1:2) 1:3 (CA1:3). material underwent chemical textural characterization elemental analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) Brunauer Emmett Teller method (BET), for knowing morphology, composition, surface area. Ibuprofen solutions 20, 30 40 ppm were perform tests. activation husk caused increase in porosity area charcoals, evidenced results SEM CA1:2 being that presented such properties greater proportion (297.21 m2/g); likewise, it carbon eliminated highest quantity. maximum amount adsorbed CA1:3 68.27 mg/g 65.75 mg/g, respectively. Results suggest charcoals good adsorbents ibuprofen, collaborating reduction pollutant aqueous phase, contributing sanitation.
